“…Raising kids even where the two parents are there can be quite tasking, not to consider adding the stress of being and doing it alone…”
Yes, it’s okay to get angry…Teaching our kids that it’s okay to get angry is a great step towards helping them handle conflicts appropriately…
“…Raising your child to be assertive teaches him to say No to whatever situation he does not feel comfortable with. If a child has not been taught to speak up for himself, he will grow up never changing situations, he will be just fine with whatever life hands him…”
“…That your child that seems to be frustrating all your parenting techniques is a child on her way to greatness…”
Child Abuse is the mistreatment of a child by an adult or by another child in such a way as to endanger that child is affected physically, emotionally or psychologically. So much has been said about making all efforts to keep our children safe. May I please reiterate here that keeping our kids safe is a long term concerted effort and we can’t afford to fall asleep at this duty post.
“…But, where do we draw the line between discipline and physical abuse? When does physical punishment become physical abuse?”
“As a mom, the key to keeping your child safe from sexual abuse by either an older child or an adult lies in our hands…”
…Sometimes, it could be overwhelming caring for children, especially the younger ones. But, as a mom, we want to protect our kids from an abusive environment and the long term psychological effects of abuse…
When it comes to Abuse, sometimes the only guilty ones are not the perpetrators of the act, those of us that sit down, fold our arms and watch are equally guilty. Daily, we are bombarded with various scenarios where, as a result of negligence or not being vigilant, children suffer abuse from loved ones or even total strangers. To abuse means to mistreat, maltreat, ill-treat, treat badly, ill-use or misuse. Any situation where a person […]
Summer is here! I used to get pretty excited when I worked away from home whenever school lets out for summer. This period afforded me the opportunity to sleep in a little later as there was no need to rush off to drop the kids off at school before heading out for work. Usually, during summer, I would be on vacation from work and will spend some weeks with the kids at home while they […]
That ‘Aha’ moment when your child has caught you red-handed. “Mommy Now… you said all liars will go to hell and you’re lying…”
It’s a New Month and I am particularly delighted to be a part of this Month of July. I woke up this morning rather contemplative. My 3 year old daughter looked at me and said: “Mummy, what wrong?” I said, “Nothing is wrong dear. Why did you ask?” She responded, “Because you look sad”. I couldn’t even give her a response as she had moved on to another activity. I just smiled to myself, “this […]
It’s the last Day of June! Have you done your Half Year Appraisal yet? How did you fare? Are you feeling disappointed? Are you beating yourself up over this? Understandably, you may need to take a look at that One Thing that needs to change as you move into the second half. Before you do that however, I want you to go before the Lord with an attitude of thanksgiving no matter where you may […]
“Life is complicated enough as it is. Then add the stress of comparing one child to the other…”
“A lot of us feel like Super Woman, piling our plates high with so many activities, we feel bad whenever we have to say no to one more activity. Over commitment is dangerous to our primary responsibilities in life…”
The dream of every parent is to have good, disciplined, well-behaved children that will grow into responsible adults. That’s my dream too. I see the future of my children and what I can see there is good. I don’t leave it as a dream though; I make plans and I take steps to make sure that my dream comes true. A lot of parents leave the burden of parenting to others such as the […]

Now that you are preparing for Nursery School for your child, it’s not just about preparing the kids academically that’s important … there are a whole lot more things your child should be learning at this crucial time, to gain some level of independence.
The awesome task of being a Mom can leave us drained for most of the time. In the first few weeks of your baby’s arrival, you may feel like your world has been turned upside down, everything seems to be happening all at once. Between trying to feed your baby, change diapers, giving the baby a bath, taking care of your husband… you may feel like you can’t take it for one more day.
When John Logie Baird invented the TV in 1925, I am sure he could never have imagined the tremendous impact it would have on our world, children and adults alike.
